2025 C.A.R. Committee Selection Process

The 2025 Committee Selection Process is now underway. Please access the system to let the C.A.R. Leadership Team know where you would like to serve!

Each year the C.A.R. Officers seek to put together the best group of California REALTORS® to serve on numerous C.A.R. committees to tackle the issues facing our industry and help direct Association policy. C.A.R. committee members and directors attend three C.A.R. Business Meetings throughout the year as well as conference calls and other meetings in between. Any California REALTOR® is eligible to serve on a C.A.R. Committee; being a C.A.R. Director is not required. Most committee members serve on a one-year term, but certain committees have multiple year terms.

Committee Selection Process goes live in early April for members to make recommendations for Chair, Vice Chair, Issues Chair and Member positions on Standing, Special and Advisory Committees. C.A.R. is notified by Association Executive of 2025 Association President of each local association (Deadline to be announced)

C.A.R. is notified by 2024 Regional Chair of 2025 Nominating Committee Regional Representative & Alternate Member and 2025 Regional Chair & Assistant Regional Chair (Deadline is May 13th)

The deadline date for submitting 2025 C.A.R. Committee Leadership and Specialized/Advisory recommendations (Chair, Vice Chair or Issue Chair of Standing Committees, and Chair, Vice Chair or Members of Special or Advisory Committees) is Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Leadership Team reviews all committee recommendations for Leadership and Members on Specialized/Advisory positions. Members can submit recommendations ONLY for membership positions on Standing Committees. 2025 Regional Chairs to notify C.A.R. via the online Committee Selection Process of 2025 C.A.R. Committee Regional Representatives/Liaisons. The deadline date for both of the above items is Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

2025 C.A.R. Chairs, Vice Chairs, Executive Committee, Committee Liaisons, Strategic Planning & Finance Committee and Specialized/Advisory committee selections finalized. Respective appointees confirmed. Committee Leadership Rosters containing Chairs, Vice Chairs, Issues Chairs, and Committee Liaisons to be posted online in September.

Members notified of 2025 appointments via email. Regional Chairs and Local Associations advised of appointments of members within the Region/Local Association who have been asked to serve on 2025 C.A.R. committees.

Preliminary 2025 committee rosters are available to C.A.R. staff coordinators to share with their committee leadership.

Final committee rosters available to C.A.R. staff coordinators and committee leadership.

2025 Regional Chairs provided respective rosters of 2025 Directors and Committee members by Region.

2025 NAR Committee Application Timeline

• Instruction documents about the application and selection process are available on nar.realtor/committees.

March 1 – May 15, 2024

• Committee Application Website (link is external) opens on March 1.
• Members complete/update their Expertise Profiles.
• Members submit a committee application for up to five (5) committees, and seek up to three (3) endorsements per application.
• Members submit endorsements for applicants.

May 15, 2024

• DEADLINE: Committee Application Website closes.

May 16–30, 2024

• Window opens for:
• State AEs to recommend members for their state representative positions on committees.
• State associations to review and rank committee applications for members within their state.
• Institute, Societies, and Councils (ISC) EVPs recommend members for their ISC representative positions on committees.
• Multicultural partners to recommend members for representative positions on committees.

July 26, 2024 (tentative)

• Appointment notifications for chairs and vice chairs are emailed.

July 31, 2024

• NAR Director allocations determined using membership numbers.

August 1, 2024

• Director submissions website opens.

August 26–27, 2024

• Committee Leadership Camp training in Chicago, IL, for selected 2025 Chairs and Vice Chairs.
