TIMELINE FOR 2026 APPOINTMENTS

March 2025
Committee Selection Process goes live in early March for members to make recommendations for Chair, Vice Chair, Issues Chair and Member positions on Standing, Special and Advisory Committees. More information on the policies for committee selections, descriptions/mission statements, and how to enter recommendations is available on the C.A.R. Committee Selection Process.
April 2025
C.A.R. is notified by Association Executive of 2026 Association President of each local association (Deadline is May 16th)
C.A.R. is notified by 2025 Regional Chair of 2026 Nominating Committee Regional Representative & Alternate Member and 2026 Regional Chair & Assistant Regional Chair (Deadline is May 9th)
May 2025
The deadline date for submitting 2025 C.A.R. Committee Leadership and Specialized/Advisory recommendations (Chair, Vice Chair or Issue Chair of Standing Committees, and Chair, Vice Chair or Members of Special or Advisory Committees) is Friday, May 9, 2025.
June 2025
Leadership Team reviews all committee recommendations for Leadership and Members on Specialized/Advisory positions.
Members can submit recommendations ONLY for membership positions on Standing Committees. 2026 Regional Chairs to notify C.A.R. via the online Committee Selection Process. of 2026 C.A.R. Committee Regional Representatives/Liaisons.
The deadline date for both of the above items is Thursday, July 31, 2025.
August 2025
2025 C.A.R. Chairs, Vice Chairs, Executive Committee, Committee Liaisons, Strategic Planning & Finance Committee and Specialized/Advisory committee selections finalized. Respective appointees confirmed. Committee Leadership Rosters containing Chairs, Vice Chairs, Issues Chairs, and Committee Liaisons to be posted online in September.
September 2025
Members notified of 2025 appointments via email. Regional Chairs and Local Associations advised of appointments of members within the Region/Local Association who have been asked to serve on 2025 C.A.R. committees.
October 2025
Preliminary 2026 committee rosters are available to C.A.R. staff coordinators to share with their committee leadership.
November 2025
Final committee rosters available to C.A.R. staff coordinators and committee leadership.
December 2025
2026 Regional Chairs provided respective rosters of 2026 Directors and Committee members by Region. If you have any questions, please contact C.A.R. Staff at governance@car.org.
2025 NAR Committee Application Timeline
Familiarize yourself with the timeline for the 2026 committee selection process. Please note that dates are subject to change.
February 19, 2025
• Instruction documents about the application and selection process are available on nar.realtor/committees.March 3 - May 15, 2025 • Committee Application Website opens on March 1.
• Members complete/update their Expertise Profiles.
• Members submit a committee application for up to five (5) committees, and seek up to three (3) endorsements per application.
• Members submit endorsements for applicants.
May 15, 2025 • DEADLINE: Committee Application Website closes.
May 16 – June 13, 2025 Window opens for:
• State AEs to recommend members for their state representative positions on committees.
• State associations to review and rank committee applications for members within their state.
• Institute, Societies, and Councils (ISC) EVPs recommend members for their ISC representative positions on committees.
June 9 – August 15, 2025 • Multicultural partners to recommend members for representative positions on committees.
July 15, 2025 • Appointment notifications for chairs and vice chairs are emailed.
July 31, 2025 • NAR Director allocations determined using membership numbers.
August 1, 2025 • Director submissions website opens.
August 1–29, 2025 (tentative) • Window open for state association AEs, ISCs EVPs, and multicultural partner directors to review preliminary committee appointments for all members within their organization.
August 11–12, 2025 • Leadership Summit & Camp training in Chicago for selected 2026 chairs and vice chairs, committee liaisons, and staff executives.
September 15, 2025 • DEADLINE: State associations and local boards submit director(s) names for director entitlement allocations.
Failure to submit names on this date results in the association’s forfeiture of the allocated director seat.
October 1, 2025 (tentative) • 2026 Committee appointments are announced via email.
